I Want to Hear your Ideas (www.personaswimwear.com)
Please check out the swimwear site I've been working on.....seems like it's been a lifetime! But I am happy with how it looks and works. It would be interesting to hear what you think about the layout, navigation, and how the wording flows.
Here is the site:

Thank you for your support! It's been a journey, an exciting and creative one. Here's hoping for a busy swimwear season.

Another Creative Project: Persona Swimwear
Hello! I have been using my artist skills to design and draw swimwear. It's been a long process, so it's exciting to see the swimwear come to life! This is the "Paris" swimsuit. The online store should launch soon. Persona Swimwear....Make a Splash! Put on a Persona!

Morgan and Mark
It's amazing when you change your palette how it effects the way you paint. I changed it to have more earthtones, which has made it easier to paint flesh tones. The palette I was using before was more effective for landscapes because of the saturation of color. I'm always happy when I have the opportunity to paint people-it's a challenge. One that I enjoy.

Birthday Party
I snapped this picture at my nephews birthday party. She was not happy to pose for the photo, but I thought her expression was priceless. I've enjoyed painting her face. A few details in the piece need to be perfected-like the sky and hand. I have all sorts of paintings that all need the finishing details, it's the hardest part for me. I get excited to move onto the next piece!
Large Scale Nude Painting
This piece has proved to be a challenge, but I think I need to be patient and give it more time. Because of the large size, I need to work in sections, building up the paint. The top portion of the back needs more paint, with lighter tones on top. I will step away from the piece for awhile and see what direction I want to take next.

The Utah Landscape
I have a few pieces in the works. I've actually started on a few nude figurative paintings, which is proving challenging due to the different flesh tones. But I have to say that I really enjoy painting the landscape with all the array of color. This painting reminds me of all the spring flowers. It will be nice to break out of the inversion and cold weather.....soon, hopefully soon.

Blue Shed
Finished piece, Blue Shed, 5"x7" Oil on Canvas. This piece is from a trip to Puerto Rico with my family. We kept driving by this blue shed everyday on the way to the beach, and I couldn't resist the robin blue color and the orangs blossoms. I knew I had to paint it!

Studio Snapshot
This is a snapshot of my studio. I'm working on a few paintings, the largest one is on the easel and the smaller ones are on the palette in the background. Lately I have been interested in clouds and all the different colors they contained. The painting on the easel is the first coat, which I applied using a palette knife to lay down more color faster. Then I took a rag and smeared everything, I liked the soft atmospheric reaction it caused.
Besides just applying straight color, I have been glazing subtle color over the top of each lay to get a softer prism of colors....for a cloud like effect.
I am still beating myself up for not painting more often and getting more done. But I just have to take a breath and accept that I'm not perfect. One day at a time. I'm glad that I am starting to feel more steady in life and get back some sense of routine. I have my good days and bad days still. I'm excited to be applying for a masters program in painting this coming spring. I look forward to the challenge and also the help in reaching a new level in my work.
